There are some things that can make a massive difference to your health. This is my personal “health essentials” list, covering most of what I believe everyone should be taking, using or doing – or avoiding.
Early days, yet, sorry and this page is by no means complete – may never be LOL. I will be listing my essentials here, with a quick explanation on why, and a link to the page for more in depth information on each of these healthy choices. If you find alternative health stuff interesting, then please remember to bookmark this page and come back frequently to see what is new.
Although not many people are aware of it, water has been used therapeutically for simply eons. There are masses of research articles, informative books, trials and testimonies of using different “Water Therapy” methods to improve health and to relieve disease.
“You Are Not Sick – You Are thirsty!” One of the most enlightening books I own is Your Bodies many Cries For Water, (available at Amazon) by F. Batmanghelidj, M.D. This book, based on a pioneering physician’s twenty years of clinical and scientific research into the role of water in the body, explains a breakthrough discovery that chronic dehydration produces stress, chronic pains and many painful degeneration diseases.
The back cover of my own copy of Your Bodies many Cries For Water reads: “This book explains a new discovery that lack of water in the body – chronic dehydration – is the root cause of many painful, degenerative diseases, asthma, allergies, hypertension, excess body weight, and some emotional problems including depression. The book explains the damaging effects of dehydration in the fourth dimension of time.”
Needless to say, this book is an extremely enlightening read. Who would have thought that you can reverse chronic health conditions just with water?
I also own the stunning book “Messages From Water” (available at Amazon) by Dr. Masaru Emoto. If you have never heard of this book, then you honestly should check it out. Using high-speed photography, Dr. Masaru Emoto discovered that crystals formed in frozen water reveal changes when specific, concentrated thoughts are directed toward them. He found that water from clear springs and water that has been exposed to loving words shows brilliant, complex, and colorful snowflake patterns. In contrast, polluted water, or water exposed to negative thoughts, forms incomplete, asymmetrical patterns with dull colors.
The implications of this research create a new awareness of how we can positively impact the earth and our personal health. The photos are simply stunning and will make most people stop in their tracks. Certainly food for though.
You can use the information in the book to transform your water into something truly special – nurturing, healthful, enlivening …

One of my favorite healthy options, juicing is just a part of everyday life here. Probably because it is so very easy and so dang good for you. Not to mention that most juices are seriously scrumptious!
When my son was little, he loved to come home from school and prepared his own “Dragon’s Blood” juice. Our juicer back then was a Champion – so it was quite a mission for him and one he enjoyed immensely.
Dragon’s Blood is simply carrot, beetroot, apple and orange juice. The orange gives it a teeny bit of sparkle. This is still our most favorite juicing recipe – so simple, yet so nutritious and tasty to boot. A range of colors supplies a wide range of nutrients. And it was so much better for him after school than a handful of cookies or a sandwich of white bread and butter.
You can buy very expensive juice machines, but there are also really basic models that do the job and cost under $50. Well within the reach of most families. A manual citrus juicer can be purchased very cheaply, for oranges and other citrus fruits.
The only problem with juicing is that it can be expensive if you do not have ready access to modestly priced fruit and veges, because juicing uses a lot. If you can grow your own produce then your are onto a winner. Your juices will be so much healthier because they are straight from the garden – to your glass. Most of the nutrients and enzymes will still be present.

I love my Himalayan Salt! It is listed one of my essentials because of the vast array of health benefits, and the easy-peasy ways you can use it. It can be used for everything from cleaning your teeth to getting rid of warts, from refreshing your eyes to healing an ulcer. It supplies your body with a magnificent array of minerals.
I drink a glass of water with “Sole” in it most mornings after I get up. Sole (pronounced Solay) is a concentrated form of liquid salt. It is made by placing some salt (usually in rock form) in a container and filling it up with water. You let it sit for 24 hours and this is when all the salt possible has dissolved into the water and it can’t absorb any more. There should always be some salt in the bottom of your container to make sure the solution is fully saturated.
Sole is consumed by diluting it into a glass of water. When taken on an empty tummy, it can be utilized almost immediately by your body’s cells. It gives a fantastic amount of energy that lasts well into the day. It is a wonderful healer and disinfectant as well. If you have some sitting in your kitchen you can quickly use it to dab on cuts and bruises, pimples etc.
Most people do not get enough minerals. You can buy colloidal minerals in liquid form that are excellent products, but they are usually very expensive and out of the reach of the average person wanting daily consumption for their family. Nothing compares with the price and nutritional value of Himalayan Pink Salt. One of the major benefits of this healthful salt is that it is readily available to most people world wide and it is one of the things that is incredibly cheap to add into your life.
You can also buy beautiful Himalayan Salt Lamps. They are not only very pretty and decorative to have around your home, they clean the air and provide negative ions. Very healthful to inhale – like being underneath a waterfall in a remote mountain range.
Vaccination! Heck, where do I start? With the links to the massive increase in allergies in the developed world? With the links to auto-immune diseases? With the links to Autism, ADHD, Asperger Syndrome, Epilepsy?…. With the research that IS NOT THERE to say it works? With the growing list of medical doctors and veterinarians that are seeing chronic health problems and death that can only be attributed to the use of vaccinations?
What about with the lies we have been told that vaccines have stopped infectious diseases? That particular information has been skewed to only give us a small picture of the whole data. Click here and have a look at graphs that show these diseases were declining many, many years BEFORE the introduction of vaccines (you will have to scroll down). You are allowed to get angry – most people do!
Well, honestly I don’t know where to start. Books and medical references have been written on this subject by qualified, world experts and it is worth looking into – especially if you have children and have no idea of the adverse effect vaccines can have. It is not just the vaccine reaction bumps and the crying babies – what is most upsetting is the long term serious and sometimes deadly effects. Check out this video on The Dangers of Vaccination.
One of the best places to start with vaccine research is an Australia website here: Vaccination Information Service
My personal opinion is that the only real solution to immunity is to make sure you are as healthy as you can be. Eat well and enjoy life so that your body is able to deal with what comes along.

One of the most important factors in health is eating plenty of enzyme rich foods. To put it very simply enzymes are the key to life. If there are no enzymes present, then there is no life. Enzymes are responsible for all of the functions of every organ system in our bodies.
When food is cooked or processed, enzymes are destroyed. As food ages, enzymes are lost. Most of the food the average persons diet consist of these days is pretty near devoid of enzymes.
Dr Edward Howell, a leading pioneer in Enzyme Nutrition has developed the following Enzyme Nutrition Axiom: The length of life is inversely proportional to the rate of exhaustion of the enzyme potential of an organism. The increased use of food enzymes promotes a decreased rate of exhaustion of the enzyme potential. He has theorized we are born with a limited supply of enzyme energy. And that we should always be replenishing our supply of enzymes to make sure that enzymes vital roles inside our bodies can be performed. If we are not constantly replenish our enzyme supply, then we run the risk of ill health.
In other words, the more food enzymes you consume on a regular basis, the longer and healthier life you will live.
The best way to get enzymes in your diet is to eat raw foods, those which are as near to their natural state as you can get them. Straight out of the garden while they are still living is excellent. Possibly the easiest way is to grow your own sprouted grains, nuts and seeds in your kitchen at home. That way you can have a constant supply of cheap, tasty and highly nutritious foods on hand that is loaded with food enzymes. Fermented foods are also a great way to consume enzymes.

Laugh Every Day!
As we get older and life sometimes throws us massive challenges, we may forget to simply laugh. Laughter is one of the most basic and healthy things we can do to improve our experience of life. Have you had a really good belly laugh today? If not – then you need one. Watch one or two of the videos I have shared on my Benefits of Laughter page and try and let go!
Some of The Benefits of Laughter:
- Increase oxygenation of the blood
- Increase vascular blood flow
- Lower blood pressure
- Defend against respiratory infections
- Reduce the frequency of colds by increasing immuno-globulon in saliva
- Exercise muscles: the diaphragm, abdominal, respiratory, facial, leg, back
- Reduce certain stress hormones including cortisol and adrenaline
- Increase the response of tumor and disease killing cells including as Gamma-interferon and T-cells
- Increase memory and learning
- Improve alertness
- Enhance creativity
If you need to get some more laughing into your life, you should consider joining a “Laughter Club” – also known as “Laughter Yoga”. There are currently more than 6,000 Laughter Clubs worldwide, on 6 continents across 60 countries. They are usually run along the lines established by Dr Madan Kataria, a medical doctor who founded the global laughter movement in 1995 in India.
This is an informal type of club where the members get together regularly – just to laugh. Laughter is infectious and best done in company – so if you are alone or lonely, check out one of these laughter clubs. Most club sessions last around half and hour and are usually held out-of-doors.
For a low down on Laughter Clubs and what they can do for you, here is a great segment from Australian 60 Minutes program: In Pursuit of Happiness
Now the sad things is that research is showing that many people do not have enough laughter in their lives. In fact, one study suggests that while healthy children may laugh as much as 400 times a day, adults tend to only laugh 15 times a day. Seriously, we need to do something about that!
For more information on how laughter is the best way to relieve stress have a look at this page: Benefits of Laughter. And if you want to have a really good laugh right now, I have selected some videos that are pretty good in that area. Go have a look now: Laughter The Best Medicine
