Jack Lalanne PJP Power Juicer Pro Review: If your diet has been limited to over-processed and over-cooked foods, it’s time for you to consider ways to consume healthier raw foods. We need fresh fruits and vegetables to provide our bodies with essential nutrients for greater vitality and a strong immune system.
Juicing is the easiest way to consume the vegetables and fruits we need for good health. One of the better centrifugal juicing machines available today is the Jack Lalanne Power Juicer Pro.
Power Juicer Pro Features
The new Jack Lalanne Power Juicer Pro has a stainless steel finish, a non-drip spout and a stainless steel mesh filter. Its 250-watt motor runs quietly at 3,600 RPM. This centrifugal juicer is said to extract 30% more juice than other juicing machines.
One of the best features of the Power Juicer Pro is the extra large feed chute. The chute can accommodate most fruits and vegetables without the need to pre-cut them into smaller chunks. The stainless steel finish gives it a sleek, modern look and makes it easy to clean.
What You can Juice with the Power Juicer Pro
The Jack Lalanne juicing machine is good at juicing firmer fruits like apples and pears. It also works well with carrots, beets and celery. The juicer can extract a high amount of juice and leave the pulp dry. When it comes to pineapples, oranges and other citrus fruits, the juicer’s performance is only average. It doesn’t extract as much juice and the pulp remains slightly wet.
NOTE: This juicer should not be used with soft, ripe fruits and vegetables such as mango, berries, grapes and tomatoes as they clog up the mesh screen and do not produce enough juice.
In addition, the Power Juicer Pro is not designed to juice leafy greens, wheatgrass and herbs. This is true not only for the Power Juicer Pro but for other centrifugal juicers as well.
Pros and Cons
The Jack Lalanne juicer is cheap and is easy to use. It is also relatively easy to clean up and is dishwasher safe except for the base. The motor works efficiently and is not too noisy. In terms of performance, the Power Juicer Pro is above average.
The Power Juicer has a few limitations. It doesn’t work very well with soft fruits and vegetables, and chunks of produce sometimes fly out of the feed chute if left uncovered. Perhaps the weakest part is the plastic screw peg where the filter and blade are attached. This can break easily.
While the Jack Lalanne Power Juicer Pro is not perfect, it works reasonably well and is very affordable. It is a good option for first time juicers who do not want to spend a huge amount on a juicing machine.
