As the body releases and eliminates waste and toxins that have accumulated for so long, it is natural that this will induce a reaction on many levels. This is only and temporary unpleasantness and is what is referred to as a healing crisis

It can be a somewhat difficult concept to grasp that when undergoing a cleansing regimen is the detoxification symptoms that occur along the way.

However, these unpleasant side effects are merely a necessary part of the healing process that we must endure so that we can experience the true benefits of a clean, healthy body.

The turbulence that our bodies experience during detoxification can be very unpleasant in some people and even a little scary at times.

And if the body detox occurs too rapidly, detox symptoms may be extreme and severe. This is what’s called the healing crisis.

As the body eliminates the accumulated toxins and waste materials that have been stored for so long, it is natural that this will cause a reaction. Basically, we temporarily relive past conditions and illnesses as they are released.

The good news is, once eliminated and released, we are free of future problems and diseases that arise from a toxin saturated body.

 A Healing Crisis is Often Identified By:

  • diarrhea
  • joint or muscle pain
  • severe headaches
  • fevers and chills
  • skin eruptions such as acne, pimples and rashes
  • insomnia
  • cramps
  • fatigue
  • mood swings and emotional instability

The fact that must be faced is that there may be some degree of discomfort as the body rids itself of the poisons and toxins that it has been burdened with for so long. The detox symptoms are only indicators that everything in your body is working well.

Any discomfort that you encounter is only going to be very temporary. A healing crisis should not last any longer than a day or three days at the most. You can take your detox slower if you want a little relief from the healing crisis symptoms.

To enable your body to remove toxic build-up easily follow these tips:

  • Drink lots of clean, pure water
  • Slow down and get plenty of rest
  • Get plenty of sunshine and fresh air
  • Reduce dosages of herbs if taking teas/capsules

Keep in mind that sometimes (well … often) things will to get worse before they get better. It can be a difficult time, but don’t give up. You will feel so much better when it is all over.

You will have faced the challenge and won a major battle. When you are strong for your body, your body will be strong for you!
